Faustino Lopez, senator from Morena for Tamaulipas, died this Saturday with his partner after suffering a car accident on federal highway 45, in Zacatecas.
In his Twitter account, the president of the Political Coordination Board of the Chamber of Senators, Ricardo Monreal, reported on the unfortunate loss.
“With great regret, I sadly inform that Senator Faustino López and Mrs. Pilar Hernandez, his wife, died in a car accident; irreparable loss that mourns us in the Senate. My love and solidarity with his family, children and loved ones. May they rest in peace,” he reported.

Reports indicate that Faustino Lopez along with his family were on their way from San Luis Potosí to Zacatecas, but in the municipality of Trancoso he had a mishap, since the truck in which they were traveling left the road until it was overturned on the asphalt .
Senator Soledad Luevano Cantu reported that due to what happened she would cancel her report, an event that the deceased official was attending. “It is with deep sadness that I want to inform you that I have decided to cancel this event. I am informed that my partner, Sen. Faustino Lopez, who came to this report to accompany me, sadly had an accident arriving in Trancoso”.
“I am informed that the senator has passed away and in honor of him and the pain of his families, I am canceling this report. A thousand thanks to everyone for attending and my solidarity with the Senator's family and people involved, ”he added.
On the seat that remained vacant, the National Electoral Institute (INE) could call an extraordinary election in Tamaulipas, in addition to the fact that there may be an election for citizens to elect their representative.
