On Friday evening, the CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk, exchanged several messages with his followers of his new company focused on internal politics where he made it clear that the person for whom I get to vote must be sensible my preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist. “I was hoping that would be the case with the Biden administration, but I have been disappointed so far.”
In addition, he called himself a “significant supporter of the Obama-Biden presidency and who (reluctantly) voted for Biden over Trump.”
After discussing his political leanings, a user asked him if he would endorse Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the upcoming presidential election if he ran, to which he replied “Yes.”
Musk's response left more than one surprised, since days ago there was a rumor that he was thinking of supporting Donald Trump in his next candidacy after the nod he gave him after buying Twitter Inc.
The tycoon restored the former president's blue bird account after it was suspended after the riots on January 6, however, he has not used it because he is forced to make most of his posts on his Truth Social social network, decision which Musk also commented “I'm fine with Trump not tweeting. The important thing is that Twitter corrects a serious error by banning his account, despite the fact that he did not violate the law or the terms of service. Removing the platform of a sitting president undermined public trust in Twitter for half of America.”
The response from the chief executive of Tesla Inc. and SpaceX comes after several Republican leaders have spoken openly about supporting DeSantis as the party's flag bearer in the upcoming election.
