Recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program can buy hot food at some establishments if they participate in the Restaurant Dining Program or within authorized retailers

Each year millions of Americans benefit from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which provides financial assistance through food stamps to low-income families.

Recipients of federal aid are given an EBT electronic card with which they can buy some foods in physical and online retail stores, and farmers' markets, among others that are authorized.

Although many food businesses and restaurants are not authorized, such as Starbucks, there are some places and states that do accept EBT cards, for example, if the store location participates in the Food Program in restaurants, in this case, the states are California, Arizona, Maryland, Illinois, Virginia, Michigan, and Rhode Island.

Another way is if the franchise in the one you want to buy is inside a grocery store like Target or Safeway. If the Starbucks store meets either of those two requirements, SNAP recipients can buy hot food at that location.

These options to use food stamps in these stores allow some beneficiaries of the program who cannot prepare food at home or by themselves, either due to a lack of stable housing or a disability, to buy food prepared in these stores. restaurants with SNAP payment, as reported by the Department of Agriculture.
