After grossing more than $537 million dollars, the movie “Barbie” has become the most successful in the history of the Warner Bros. company in the United States, surpassing “Batman: The Dark Knight”, directed by Christopher Nolan

The film “Barbie”, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, ranks No. 1 at the US box office for the fourth consecutive week , and with this he has managed to break another record: it is the film with the highest profit in that country in the history of the production company Warner Bros.

Directed by Greta Gerwig “Barbie” Up to now, it has raised $537.5 million dollars, surpassing -by a million and a half dollars- “Batman: The Dark Knight”, the 2008 film that held that record until now. The film about the famous doll earned $162 million in its first weekend in the United States, easily dwarfing superhero films produced by Warner that have been released this year, such as “The Flash” and “Shazam! Fury of the gods”.

But “Barbie” it could still break another record and become the most successful film of 2023 in the United States; it all depends on whether it beats “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”, which has so far brought in $574 million dollars. “Batman: The Dark Knight” is the work of Christopher Nolan, who coincidentally is the director of “Oppenheimer”, a film that was released the same day that “Barbie” and that caused people to refer to the competition of both films as Barbenheimer.
