More than 7 million Baby Shark bath toys to be recalled

The manufacturer reported that at least 12 children suffered lacerations, puncture injuries and impalements, nine of them requiring medical intervention.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that more than 7 million Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing and Swim, will be recalled because the fins posed a serious risk of impalement, laceration, and stabbing injuries to children.
The agency detailed that 6 million regular-sized toys and 1 million small-sized toys will be recalled, the shark-shaped toys have a hard plastic top fin that has so far caused harm to at least 12 children.
According to the company, the reports ranged from puncture wounds to genital and facial areas to lacerations and impalements, nine of which required medical intervention, the company said.
In this sense, the manufacturer specified that this recall only affects plastic toys which can be identified with the model number “#25282” and a date code beginning with the letters “DG” followed by “YYYY/MM/DD” from January 5, 2019, to June 19, 2022, for large ones.
Smaller toys are as of June 15, 2020, through May 25, 2023, and include model numbers “#7163”, “#7175”, “#7166” or “#25291” and a date code beginning with the letters “DG” followed by “YYYY/MM/DD”.
The company said that people who own the recalled toys can contact the manufacturer for a refund, the small version is $6 and the large $14 dollars.
