The young figure from the Tuzos del Pachuca could have signed for Feyenoord. However, the president of the Mexican team acknowledged that the negotiations with the Dutch team came too late to reach an agreement.

Luis Chavez was one of the players who stood out the most for El Tri in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Tuzos del Pachuca player was one of the pieces that attracted the most attention on the Old Continent. Several clubs were behind Chavez, but due to bureaucratic factors the young soccer player had to stay in Liga MX.

It was the president of Pachuca himself, Armando Martinez, who revealed the possibility that Luis Chavez had to play football in Europe. Feyenoord, Santiago Gimenez 's club , tried to get hold of the young Tuzos player, but the approach was made a few hours after the transfer market closed.

“Feyenoord came for Luis Chavez, but they arrived two hours before the market closed. I was not going to give time to close everything, ”Martinez indicated in an interview with W Deportes.

Luis Chávez and his criticism of Mexican soccer

Before Armando Martinez's testimony, Luis Chavez had already raised some criticism that could be related to the treatment of his signing. The Pachuca footballer criticized the clubs' demands when selling their players.

“We see the MLS that almost gives away its players to Europe as long as they have more prominence in their selection. You see them now and you realize that almost all of their team are players in Europe, I think we could copy that a bit, leaving some of the business aside,” Chavez explained in an interview with Fox Sports.
