For its part, almost at the same time that this was happening in Mexico, in Spain Celta de Vigo confirmed the transaction and said goodbye to its player, who was on loan with FC Juarez.
The Uruguayan attacker arrived in Balaidos in the summer of 2019 from Penarol to replace his compatriot Maxi Gomez, transferred to Valencia. However, Toro Fernández hardly had any chances in his first season at Celta (554 minutes and one goal) and the following year he went on loan to Zaragoza.
After spending time with the Aragonese team, the 29-year-old forward went out on loan to FC Juarez, the team he played for in recent seasons. In the Mexican championship, he played 47 games and scored 12 goals.
