First Lady Jill Biden will leave the residence in South Carolina, where she was in isolation for five days, after contracting COVID-19, but President Biden's wife tested negative for two recent tests

With negative results to two COVID-19 tests, First Lady Jill Biden will be able to leave the residence in South Carolina where she was insolation.

“After five days and receiving two negative COVID-19 test results, the First Lady will leave South Carolina for Delaware today,” said spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander.

On August 16, First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for a COVID-19 PCR test, after having tested negative for rapid tests, although she had mild symptoms.

Her spokesperson then indicated that after testing negative for COVID-19 during her regular test, the First Lady began to develop cold-like symptoms, so she was tested again.

“He was negative again on a rapid antigen test, but a PCR test came back positive,” Alexander confirmed.

The wife of President Joe Biden has her two vaccines and two boosters, in addition to following a Paxlovid treatment , the same drug prescribed to the president.

It was not reported if any of the people who were close to the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19.

It had been anticipated that Jill Biden would leave isolation once two consecutive tests for the virus were negative.

President Biden no longer tested negative, after his relapse to COVID-19 infection , but he has five days left of wearing a mask indoors.

“[President Biden] will wear a mask for 10 days indoors and when around other people,” a White House spokesman said on August 16.
