So far there are no suspects in custody for the shooting that occurred early Sunday outside the Tabu club, located west of Houston.

Police reported that during the early hours of this Sunday there was a shooting in the parking lot of a club in Houston, Texas, which left at least six people injured, one in critical condition.

“Someone shot into a crowded parking lot,” Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner said at a news conference outside the Taboo club on the west side of the city where the shooting occurred.

He added that investigators did not know how many people might have been responsible for the shooting and that there were no suspects in custody.

“We had 6 victims here in a shootout. Apparently there was some kind of disturbance at the club that went out into the parking lot.”

Finner added that one of the victims, a man, was in critical condition and underwent surgery.

“We are praying that he makes it. All the others are in stable condition, but we hope that they make it, so let's just pray for the family of the only victim who just came out of surgery; I hope you're okay,” he added.

The victims' ages ranged from their late 20s to early 30s, Finner said, adding that they had been transported to several hospitals in the area.

“Make no mistake about it. We will find out who did it and we will hold them accountable," added the police chief, who also asked citizens to contact the authorities to have information about it.

Investigators were looking at surveillance footage to try to establish who was behind the shooting.

Police advised partygoers to leave bars and clubs before closing time and to avoid large crowds trying to leave venues at the end of the night.

A few weeks ago, ashooting in parking lot of strip club located just west of Fort Worth, Texas, left three injured and one suspect dead.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office says the suspect opened fire after staff at the Temptations Cabaret club asked the subject and others to leave after they got into a fight.

The three people shot by the suspect were hospitalized and expected to survive, authorities said.

The suspect died at a hospital.

Earlier this month May, two people were injured after being stabbed inside the same club.
