The ID card of former Apple employee named Sam Sung was auctioned off via eBay for funds to help the Downtown Eastside Women's Center
A former Apple worker announced through his social networks that he put up for sale the identification card he used when he worked for the Cupertino (California) company.
The amazing thing about the case is that the man with Korean roots is named Sam Sung, very similar to the name of the Samsung company , one of Apple's main competitors in the smartphone business. It is precisely for this reason that in his opinion his card has a high value, since it reads “Sam Sung specialist” (Sam Sung specialist), in what seems like a joke.

The man, who is originally from the city of Glasgow in Scotland, told through a video posted on his Twitter account that this is the second time he has held an auction of this type . At the first opportunity he managed to sell another of his ID cards when he worked at an Apple store in Vancouver (Canada) for more than $2,500 dollars , which he then donated to a charity.
He indicated that the card he put up for auction this time is from when he worked at an Apple store in Glasgow.
“Recently a relative found my identification card from that time and sent it to me. It is still in mint condition and I decided to try my luck again auctioning on eBay, but this time I will donate any money that is raised to the Downtown Eastside Women's Center,” Sung says in the video of her.
He pointed out that as in the previous opportunity, the winner of the auction will receive the framed identification card, accompanied by an original Apple shirt . According to the eBay post, the winner of the auction was a bidder who offered $1,152 Canadian dollars.
The case of Sam Sung is a clear example of what is known as an aptonym, that is, a name whose meaning is directly related to his profession or occupation. However, in the case of Sam Sung it is an accidental event taking into account that the selection of his name did not occur based on that of the South Korean company.
