So far the reason for the mishap is unknown, so it is already being investigated. Meanwhile, the authorities reported that no passenger was injured and the airline completed the route with the change of plane.

A Delta Air Lines flight was forced to make an emergency landing Tuesday after the plane's cabin filled with smoke.

Delta Air Lines Flight 2846, en route to Los Angeles International Airport from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, made an emergency landing at Albuquerque International Sunport after the cabin filled with smoke .

Videos captured aboard the Boeing 757 showed passengers sitting quietly as the cabin slowly filled with smoke as an alarm sounded.

One of the passengers, journalist Mark Johnson, tweeted that the pilots had to make an emergency landing after one of the engines died. Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the smoke.

After landing safely, the passengers were captured cheering on the pilots and flight attendants.

The FAA said it will investigate the incident. Delta arranged for the flight to continue to Los Angeles with a different plane, which was due to arrive later Tuesday night, the airline said.

This incident occurs a few weeks after the case where a plane that took off from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport bound for the city of Miami had to make an emergency landing after hitting a bird.

At that time, it was United Airlines Flight 1930, which "shortly after takeoff" hit a bird, causing the engine to catch fire and it had to return to the runway, explained a spokesman for O'Hare airport.
