In its quest for innovation and improvement, Volkswagen has announced a series of significant improvements for its electric ID.4 model, which will arrive in 2024, focused on increasing power, autonomy and on-board technology.
Thus, the car promises an even more attractive option for those inclined towards electric vehicles and those looking for a more sustainable and efficient alternative.
Now, The 2024 ID.4 is introduced with a new high-performance drive unit, which will be available for models equipped with 82 kWh batteries and provides a significant increase in power and range compared to its predecessor.
Both rear-wheel drive and AWD models will benefit from this upgrade. The rear-wheel drive variant now produces 282 horsepower, representing a substantial increase over the previous model.
On the other hand, all-wheel drive models reach around 330 horsepower, contributing more outstanding acceleration, making the ID.4 a more effective car within the segment of electrified models.
Range is a crucial factor for any electric vehicle, and Volkswagen has worked hard to improve it in the 2024 ID.4. Although EPA-estimated ranges are not yet available, updates to the powertrain and energy management result in significantly greater autonomy compared to the previous model.
Volkswagen has also improved the technology on board the 2024 ID.4. One of the most notable features is the new 12.9-inch infotainment screen.
In addition to being larger, it features sleek, intuitive, and easy-to-use backlit sliders. This update provides drivers with quick access to key vehicle features and improves the overall driving experience.
Another novelty is the introduction of ventilated seats in the first row, increasing the comfort of the occupants, especially in hot climates. In addition, ID.4 S Plus models will receive a harman/kardonTM premium audio system with nine speakers, a subwoofer and a 16-channel amplifier.
Similarly, the German automaker has also updated the exterior styling of the 2024 ID.4 models. Standard AWD ID.4s now feature larger 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, while models S Plus are upgraded to 21-inch machined alloy wheels.
Importantly, the 2023 ID.4 models are eligible for the potential federal tax credit of up to $7,500, making the car an alternative.
