The operation is carried out during the Labor Day holiday weekend on the roads of California ; this year, the authorities of Nevada and Arizona also participate by applying similar patrols.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) maintains an operation to identify drunk drivers or drivers under the influence of drugs during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

The CHP measures remain active not only on the roads of Los Angeles County but throughout the territory of California, in a joint patrol in coordination with the authorities of Arizona and Nevada.

According to California Highway Patrol officials, the statewide operation concludes at 11:59 p.m. this Monday, September 4.

During the entire holiday weekend and until the operation concludes, all available officers were deployed to carry out traffic stops and verify the status of drivers, and in case of any violation of the rules, take specific enforcement actions.

“Driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs remains one of the leading causes of traffic deaths and injuries. “A driver under the influence of alcohol behind the wheel puts himself and everyone on the road in great danger,” CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee told Telemundo.
