Jeremy Bailey, 34, turned himself in without incident after murdering her husband and in-laws north of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Authorities say a Utah man murdered his wife and in-laws and then called police Friday to report and admit to the crime.

Jeremy Bailey, 34, turned himself in without incident at the family home in Layton, just north of Salt Lake City, police said in a statement.

The bodies of Bailey's wife, Anastasia Stevens, 36; Becky Stevens, 61; and Donald Stevens, 73; They were found inside the house.

Becky Stevens was Anastasia Stevens' stepmother and Donald Stevens was her father. Both lived in Nevada and were visiting the house where the bodies were found.

A neighbor of the couple, Lanny Cottrell, told NBC affiliate Salt Lake City station KSL that he recently saw Bailey and her father-in-law “having a very heated argument” as they passed the home.

Three of the family's dogs also died.

The motive and cause of death are still being investigated, so the police are expected to provide more details about the case in the coming days.

Enoch city officials identified the gunman in the murder-suicide as Michael Haight, 42, and the victims as his wife, Tausha Haight, 40, their three daughters, ages 17, 12 and 7, and two sons. 7 and 4 years old .

Tausha Haight's mother, Gail Earl, 78, also died, according to a news release from the Enoch city government.

Court records showed that wife Tausha had filed for divorce from Michael on December 21, but it was not immediately known why she had tried to end their marriage.
