After controversy over Taylor Swift's tour, Ticketmaster will be investigated for ticket sales abuse

After the controversy that arose over the failed sale of tickets for Taylor Swift's next tour, Ticketmaster will be investigated by the United States Department of Justice for abuse of power and monopolistic activities.
Two sources close to the company detailed to The New York Times that the authorities launched an investigation against Ticketmaster's parent company, that is, Live Nation Entertainment Inc, to verify whether they have a monopoly in the world of entertainment.
The foregoing, after thousands of users reported having had problems when purchasing tickets for 'The Erass Tour', the next tour that Taylor Swift will give in the United States, causing many to run out of tickets.

In addition to the investigation by the US Justice Department, top city officials in Nevada, Tennessee and Pennsylvania have opened their own investigations into the matter.
For his part, Nevada Attorney General Josh Shapiro published a tweet inviting affected people to file their complaints against Ticketmaster. After his message, the Democrat thanked the people for their cooperation and stated that he has "many complaints" to review.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General of Tennessee, Jonathan Skrmetti, indicated that there are no accusations against the company, but that it was their obligation to investigate the issue so that consumer rights are respected.
“At this time there are no allegations of misconduct, but as the attorney general it is my job to ensure that consumer protection and antitrust laws are followed in Tennessee,” she said during a meeting with the press.
It should be noted that the company issued a statement on the situation, after Taylor Swfit made a forceful claim for the collapse in ticket sales for her tour.
“We strive to make buying tickets as easy as possible for fans, but that hasn't been the case for many people trying to buy tickets for Taylor Swift The Eras Tour. First, we want to issue an apology to Taylor and all of her fans, especially those who had a terrible experience trying to buy tickets,” they explained.
