Leonardo DiCaprio will star in an as yet untitled film that will mark the return of director Paul Thomas Anderson, famous for films such as “There Will Be Blood”, “Magnolia” and “Phantom Thread”. The main cast also highlights Sean Penn.
Production of the film will begin in a few weeks in California, and will cost almost $100 millions of dollars. The cast is planned to feature many other well-known actors, for a US release later this year; Anderson secretly wrote the script, and it appears to be ready.
Paul Thomas Anderson's second film was “Boogie Nights”, released in 1997 and starring Mark Wahlberg; however, his role was originally was going to be played by DiCaprio, who chose to work that year with James Cameron in the blockbuster “Titanic”. From there the star of films like “Blood Diamond” and “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood” became interested in working one day with Paul, known for being a perfectionist in his work and whose most recent film, “Licorice Pizza”, was nominated for three Oscars: Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
