The singer Lizzo shared a long message on her social networks in which she says she had not harassed the three dancers who sued her; She added that, although she is not a victim, she does not want to be considered a villain either.

In response to the lawsuit filed against Lizzo in recent days by three dancers, accusing her of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment, the singer has broken the silence and turned to her Instagram account to publish a long message, in which she points out that she will not let this controversy tarnish her career.

“These past few days have been heartbreakingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals and respect have been questioned. My character has been criticized. I usually choose not to respond to false accusations, but these are as unbelievable as they sound, and too outrageous not to address. These sensational stories come from former employees who have already publicly admitted to being told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional”.

Lizzo attributed her behavior to how seriously she takes her job; she doesn't consider herself a victim, but she doesn't consider herself a villain either: “As an artist I've always been passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously because in the end I just want to put out the best art that represents me and my fans… Sometimes I have to make tough decisions, but it has never been my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or not be valued as an important part of the team. I am not here to be seen as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me these last few days. I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself.

Finally, the singer spoke out against the dancers accusing her of having humiliated them because of their weight: “There is nothing I take more seriously than the respect we deserve as women in the world. I know what it feels like to be shamed daily for your body, and I would absolutely never criticize or fire an employee because of her weight. I'm hurt, but I won't let the good work I've done in the world be overshadowed by this”.
