Other milestones Betts is looking for is becoming the first player to hit 40 home runs and 100 RBIs first in the lineup in a single season. To achieve this would be something historic in the Major Leagues and something that would put the Dodgers outfielder as a strong candidate for MVP.
What mark did Mookie Betts achieve in the month August?
The player who wore number 50 for the Dodgers in August hit a .455 average, 11 home runs, 30 RBIs, 839 SLGs and a 1.355 OPS. With this he became the first player since 1900 to have a .450 AVG, 50 hits, 10 home runs in a single month. With this he joined the players Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are virtually assured of their playoff berth and hope Mookie Betts can keep up his sensational performance for the remainder of the regular season, but especially in the Postseason.
