Shakira publishes a New Year's message: “Even if someone has betrayed us, we must continue to trust”

Shakira has obtained more than a million likes on Instagram thanks to a surprising message with which she welcomes 2023, encouraging everyone to get ahead
In 2022 Shakira was one of the artists most covered by the media due to her separation (after 12 years) from soccer player Gerard Pique. Now she welcomed her new year by posting on her Instagram account a thoughtful message in which she encourages her fans to keep going despite the suffering and the people who have left.
The Colombian began her post by writing: “Although our wounds continue to be open in this new year, time has the hands of a surgeon. Even if someone has betrayed us, we must continue to trust”, which provoked comments (or emoticons) from celebrities such as Fanny Lu, Lorena Meritano, Lauren Jauregui, Tommy Mottola and Antonella Rocuzzo , among others.
Perhaps as a catharsis, the 45-year-old singer added: “In the face of contempt, continue to value yourself. Because there are more good people than indecent. More empathic people than indolent. Fewer are leaving and more are staying by our side.”
Additionally, last week Shakira used her social networks to share an image with which she celebrates a new stage in her life, and that shows her accompanied by her children Milan and Sasha, while she holds a falcon in her arm. The message she wrote next to the photo was: “In the desert looking for serenity this Christmas.”
