The house where Beyonce lived during her childhood catches fire in the middle of Christmas
Time to Read: 1 minuteSinger Beyonce made headlines after her childhood home was consumed by flames in the middle of Christmas.
The Texan performer Beyonce, 42 years old, was in the news during Christmas, but not because of his celebration or his career, but because the house where he spent part of his childhood burned down.
According to information from various media outlets, early Monday morning a fire broke out inside the building, which caused its inhabitants to flee the place to avoid being hit by the flames.
The residence, which is made of brick and extends over two floors, was under flames for about 15 minutes, the time it took firefighters to reach the scene and put out the fire.
“We contained it in about 10 minutes,” explained Justin Barnes, district chief of the Houston Fire Department.
The causes of the fire are unknown at this time.
The property, which dates back to 1946 and is located in the Riverside Terrace neighborhood, was inhabited by Beyoncé's family from 1982 until the artist was 5 years old, when they decided to move to another location.
Although Beyoncé spent relatively little time there, the artist took advantage of her visit to the city of Houston, on the occasion of her Renaissance tour, to remember her childhood and photograph which was one of their first homes.
