The GSAT-24 satellite built by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was successfully launched by French company Arianespace on Thursday from Kourou in French Guiana (South America). This is the first demand driven communication satellite mission launched by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) after the space sector reforms. NSIL, a Government of India company under the Department of Space, has leased out the entire satellite capability to Tata Play.
