The singer manifested herself in networks after she ruled that abortion is no longer a constitutional right
Superstar Jennifer Lopez has joined many celebrities and influential figures in voicing her concern for women's rights and equality in America. She does so after the Supreme Court ruled that abortion is no longer a constitutional right and caused its prohibition in several states of the country .
"We are living in a United States that I do not recognize," López said on his Instagram account.
"I am with you and with the rights of women in this country," JLo added in a brief message through her stories .
The Supreme Court has ruled that Roe v. Wade can no longer be used as an argument that the right to abortion is protected by the Constitution.
"The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are nullified ; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives," the court said.
This means that each state can now introduce its own abortion laws , which will mean that many women will have no choice but to travel to another state if they wish to have an abortion.
JLo also shared in another Instagram story the message of judges Breyer, Sotomayor and Kagan, regarding not agreeing with the measure taken by the Supreme Court.
"It is with sorrow - for this court, but more so, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection - that we dissent."
Jennifer Lopez , 52, has become the latest high-level figure to speak out by joining the movement criticizing the decision to ban abortion in the United States.
