Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador affirms that in Mexico 'there is justice and social tranquility' in addition to ensuring that the majority in Mexico supports the Fourth Transformation of the public life of the country

Thousands of people gathered yesterday afternoon, Saturday, July 1, in the Zocalo of Mexico City, to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the 2018 electoral victory of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

During his speech of more than an hour, the Mexican president promised to eradicate violence in the country before his term ends.

“No new taxes have been created and some which is very valuable: there is justice and social tranquility and progress is being made towards the eradication of violence, we are going to achieve it together, I get tired goose”, he stated.

Accompanied by members of his cabinet, the Mexican chief executive said that the movement he leads, the so-called Fourth Transformation of the country, is supported by the majority in the country.

“There is a vast majority supporting the Fourth Transformation of public life in Mexico. The pact worked, the pact between the people and their government has been sealed under the principle of caring for and respecting everyone, but giving special attention and always favoring aid to the poor and needy,” he asserted.

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said his opponents are seeking to return to the “old regime of corruption” by 2024 and accused them of acting like an oligarchy.

Gonzalez will be the one who will decide who will be the next candidate of the opposition political parties for the 2024 presidential elections and assured that the opponents of his government do not understand that there is already a change of mentality in the people where corruption is not tolerated.

“The reactionaries of our time (the opposition) increasingly offend people's intelligence, act with arrogance and believe that they are going to reconquer the government,” he emphasized.

In addition of the attacks on the opposition, the Mexican president affirmed that his government's priority is the poor, in addition to highlighting the “nationalization” of energy such as lithium, the fight against corruption and the defense of the cultural roots of the country.

“The pact worked, the pact between the people and their Government has been sealed under the principle of caring for and respecting everyone, but giving special attention and always favoring help to the poor and needy”, he said.

Lopez Obrador was accompanied by his wife Beatriz Gutierrez Muller. the former head of the Government of Mexico City Claudia Sheinbaum; former Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard; former Secretary of the Interior Adam August Lopez; and the former leader of the Lord in the Senate Ricardo Monreal, among others.
