More than 700 bullets: They shoot at a church in northern Mexico and leave a decapitated body in front of the temple

Almost a year after the massacre in Cerocahui, Chihuahua, in which two Jesuit priests were killed, another temple in the same Mexican state was the scene of a violent attack, as a church in the Santa Anita community, in Guachochi, was attacked. shot along with other buildings on the site, where more than 700 bullets were fired on the day of terror.

The desolate scene was complemented by a completely burnt-out truck. All of this was part of a confrontation, as reported by the N+ platform.
Following reports of a shooting, an operation was deployed in which elements of the Mexican Army and the Chihuahua Public Security Secretariat participated, with the aim of searching for the criminals, confirmed Gilberto Loya, head of the state agency.

According to the official, a completely burnt-out pick-up truck was found at the site; 422 caliber casings 7.62×39; 19 cartridges caliber 7.62×39; 295 casings .223 caliber; three caliber 40 mm casings; two 9 mm caliber casings; and a fragmentation grenade. It should be noted that, in addition, two other houses were set on fire.
The situation caused chaos and fear, also generating speculation that the attack was directed at the church. In this regard, the governor of Chihuahua, Maru Campos, indicated that this was not the case, “It was not a message to the Catholic community, it was not a message in the temple, it was of another type.”
Priests asks for increased security
In an interview with Milenio TV, the priest of the church that was shot asked for more security in the state of Chihuahua, as he indicated that there is a wave of violence and he is “concerned about people.” So far he does not know if he will return to the temple, but he fears for the parishioners and other inhabitants of the site.
He explained that when he went to the scene he found “a bleak panorama” Well, he assured, the people who stayed in the town cannot leave their houses for fear.
