A tragedy involving more than 129 migrants was averted in Mexico, when elements of the National Guard found the travelers in overcrowded conditions in two abandoned vehicles on the Cadereyta-Reynosa highway, in the municipality of China, Nuevo León, at north of the country
The rescue was carried out during an operation by the National Guard and the National Institute of Migration (INM), when they detected the migrants on the side of the road, next to the trucks of redilas in who were traveling to the border with the United States.

In such condition The travelers were there who, when they began to provide first aid and water to the migrants, the elements of the National Guard requested the support of Civil Protection, because 16 people presented severe symptoms of dehydration.
The elements of the federal corporation and the INM approached the group of people to investigate the situation and when interviewing them, they explained that they had been in the place for a couple of hours waiting for help, after the drivers of the vehicles had abandoned them.
According to the authorities, the group of 129 migrants was made up of 25 women and 42 men, as well as 26 girls and 36 boys.
The immigration authorities established that ten people were from Ecuador, 24 of Honduras,45 from Guatemala and 50 from El Salvador.
According to the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), Mexico broke records as destination and origin of migration in 2022.
In 2022, the highest number of arrests of migrants transiting through Mexico in an “irregular” situation was recorded with 444,439 arrests, 44% more than the previous year.
