The former Real Madrid player offered some controversial statements about European football after Al-Nassr was humiliated by Celta de Vigo by losing 5-0. Cristiano Ronaldo considers that European football has lost its level and it is not worth returning.

Cristiano Ronaldo has categorically ruled out a return to European football, which in his opinion “has lost a lot of quality”, and assures that he prefers to play in Saudi Arabia, which will continue to receive more top-level players because “Cristiano opened the box of Pandora”.

Speaking to the press in the Algarve (southern Portugal) after the match between his team, Saudi Al Nassr, and Celta de Vigo (5-0 loss), Cristiano assured that “he does not deserve the penalty” return to Europe, given his age and the decline in quality of his leagues, with the exception of England.

“That door is completely closed. I'm already 38 and a half years old and it's not worth it. From my point of view, Europe has lost a lot of quality. The only league in the world, for me, that is at a higher level than all of them is the Premier League. I don't think even the Spanish league has that much quality”, he said.

“Cristiano has opened Pandora's box and now everyone is going to Arabia, coincidence or not,“ he stressed.

The former Real Madrid player assured that in three years (Saudi Arabia) it would be the fifth best league in the world but, if it continues like this, this year it will pass to the Turkish and the Dutch”.

“Where Cristiano is, there is more interest and he knew that the Arab League would be like this. Not only this season because I'm sure that next year more people will go,” he assured.
