The world of wrestling is in mourning after WWE announced through its social networks the death of former wrestler Darren Drozdov.

Better known as “Droz”, today the WWE broke the tragic news of the passing of Darren Drozdov, emblematic wrestler of the renowned company and who left for another plane at only 54 years of age.

A native of New Jersey, Drozdov was a complete athlete, in addition to wrestling, he excelled in sports such as American football. Noting that the wrestler was a quadriplegic, due to a neck injury suffered from a poorly executed wrestling maneuver, however he was able to regain most of the use of his upper body and arms.

His debut took place in 1998, on May 25, specifically, his injury occurred on October 5, 1999, during an edition of Smackdown. It should be noted that he had the particularity of being able to vomit spontaneously, something that they took advantage of in the industry and nicknamed him “Puke”, this nickname along with “Droz”, was the one who used throughout his career.

“WWE is saddened to learn that Darren Drozdov passed away on Friday, June 30 at age 54. WWE extends its condolences to the family, friends and fans of Darren Drozdov“, the company wrote through its Twitter account.

“We are saddened to share that our beloved Darren passed away this morning of natural causes. There are no words to convey the deep feeling of loss and sadness that we are feeling at this moment,“ the family wrote through a statement published on the official website of the WWE.

“Tambien nos gustaria agradecer a WWE por tratarlo como a una familia y por todo su amor,support and effort to make sure Darren always had the proper care and treatment to live with his condition for the past 24 years,” the statement continued.
