The Los Angeles Galaxy is not going through a good sporting moment in the 2023 Major League Soccer season, although this Wednesday they were able to get out of the bad streak with a 3-2 victory over Real Salt Lake, despite not having their star Javier Chicharito Hernandez.
Javier Hernández was absent from the game after receiving a red card for a double yellow against Charlotte FC last Saturday.
Comeback del Galaxy
The Galaxy began by winning the game with a goal in the last minutes of the first half. Gastón Brugman converted from a penalty at 45+4 and they went into the break with the advantage, but would leave the goals open for the second half.
In the second half, Real Salt Lake equalized after six minutes with a goal from Danny Musobski in the 51st and then completed the comeback in the 67th with a score by Pablo Enrique Ruiz in the 67th.
The players of the The LA Galaxy did not give up and tied the score again at minute 72 with a great goal from American midfielder Memo Rodríguez after an assist from Spanish Riqui Puig.
With a dominant Galaxy, Tyler Boyd achieved the comeback in 1974 and thus achieve the third victory of the championship that can change the campaign of the Los Angeles club.
Despite the win, LA Galaxy remain penultimate of the Western Conference with 12 points after 3 wins, 3 draws and 9 losses.
The Galaxy's next game will be against the same rival, Real Salt Lake, but for the US Open Cup on Wednesday, June 7 as visitors again at American First Field in Utah.
Leaders of the Western Conference
The leaders of the West are momentarily the Sounders, despite the 0-1 loss at home against the San José Earthquakes (first win of the year out of home). However, Saint Louis City has three games less and is one point away, as is LAFC.
The Los Angeles team now has four fewer games than the Sounders. He did not play this Wednesday in the MLS as he traveled to Mexico to play the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League finals. He lost 2-1, but Gabonese Denis Bouanga's goal in the 96th gave him an injection of confidence looking forward to next Sunday's return.
