Leon FC knew how to take advantage of its locality and beat LAFC with a 2-1 scoreline in a match that they did not know how to close and in which they ended up conceding a very important goal almost at the end of the match

The Leon FC prevailed over the LAFC of Carlos Vela at the Nou Camp with a score of 2-1, in the first leg of the Concachampions final, and takes a huge step towards achieving the title of the highest Concacaf club competition.

The first half was clearly dominated by those led by Nicolas Larcamon, while Steve Cherundolo's pupils were erratic and surprised by the good performance of La Fiera, who was able to take an important advantage before the break.

Barely eight minutes into the match, the Colombian William Tesillo raised all the local fans in the stadium and opened the scoring for Leon FC, in a play that left the rival defense without options.

Ecuadorian Angel Mena was in charge of changing it for a goal and sealing the advantage for his team at the end of the first half.

The second half was very even, the third could come from Leon or the discount from LAFC, the situations came from side to side, and at minute 59, Cherundolo began to make the pertinent modifications. At 62, Larcamón responded with a triple change.

Goalkeeper John McCarthy kept the MLS champion alive with three saves in less than a minute, including one to Costa Rica's Joel Campbell, another to Victor Davila, and a rebound from his teammate who almost ended up slipping into the area.

After not being able to close the game and having a goal disallowed at minute 94, León would end up conceding a goal that could be key in the fate of this key, and it is that the Gabonese Denis Bouanga knew how to finish off a cross perfectly to bring LAFC back to life.

Now LAFC will have to look for a comeback at home next Sunday in a match that after a close scoreline promises to leave a lot of emotions to get the new Concachampions champion.
