Eligible residents of Alaska and Georgia will receive direct payments from the Permanent Fund Dividend and tax refund respectively

From May 1 to May 18, residents of two states in the United States will receive direct payments with amounts that exceed $3,000 dollars, which belong to Permanent Fund Dividends and tax refunds.

These two states are Alaska and Georgia, for the former eligible residents will receive a direct payment of approximately $3,284 as part of the Permanent Fund Dividend. While for the second, the inhabitants will obtain a tax refund that is between $250 for individual taxpayers and $500 dollars for couples who filed their declaration jointly.

In the case of Alaska, the scheduled date for sending the money is between May 10 and 18 of this year. Applications were received through March 31, and those submitted after that date were denied.

For its part, the money for the state of Georgia began to be distributed as of May 1 of this year and it is expected that all eligible taxpayers will receive their refund this month. These checks are distributed because the state achieved a budget surplus in 2022.
