The Coast Guard reported today that it is using air and marine resources to search for a man who, for reasons still unknown, plunged from the board of that cruise ship of the company Carnival Cruise Lines

Members of the United States Coast Guard are searching Tuesday for a 35-year-old man who fell overboard the cruise ship Carnival Magic when it was 186 miles (300 kilometers) east of Jacksonville, a city located in the far northeast from the state of Florida (USA).

The Coast Guard announced today in a statement posted on Twitter using air and sea resources to search for the man, who for reasons still unknown fell from the side of that Carnival Cruise Lines cruise ship.

Local media report that at the time of the accident the cruise ship was off the coast of Jacksonville, coming from the port of Norfolk (Virginia), from where it departed on May 25.

According to a Carnival Cruise Lines statement picked up by channel 10 Tampa Bay, the man was reported missing by his companion Monday afternoon and an initial review of CCTV security footage confirms that he leaned over the railing of the balcony of his cabin”.

The man, whose identity was not revealed, reportedly fell into the water at 4:10 a.m. (8 :10 GMT) on Monday.

A Coast Guard spokesman said the Carnival Cruise Lines cruise ship had been released from participating in the rescue effort. and that the ship will arrive in Norfolk this Tuesday as scheduled.

“The Carnival Care Team is providing support to the guest's companion and travel group on board,” Carnival said.

The Coast Guard said efforts are underway to locate the man. , without providing further details
