Armed man dies in confrontation with police in Colorado

A 39-year-old man was shot by police in Windsor, Colorado, after neighbors made 911 calls for help, reporting an individual with apparent suicidal behavior and possibly intoxicated who was aggressive and armed with a shotgun.
When police responded to the call, on Sunflower Drive, they encountered an armed man who, far from being cooperative with the officers, began shooting at them.
The man fired at least three times before the officers responded to the assault and activated their weapons in the face of imminent danger.
Following the incident, the attacker was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased man has not yet been identified by the county Medical Examiner's Office.

This comes nearly a week after a similar incident in Greeley County, where a 35-year-old suspect died after a standoff with the county SWAT team after he, holed up in his garage, fired gunshots without stop agents.
