The last survivor of the Uvalde shooting who was hospitalized is discharged

Mayah Zamora, 10, was released from a San Antonio hospital on Friday, more than 9 weeks after she was injured in the Uvalde shooting.
The last remaining survivor of the Uvalde elementary school shooting in a hospital was released Friday and was able to return home.
Mayah Zamora, who remained in the hospital for more than two months after being injured in the school shooting, left the hospital on Friday with a smile on her face, according to KHOU.
The girl was admitted to University Health San Antonio hospital on May 24 in critical condition. Over time, her health gradually improved and she improved to fair condition in mid-June and good condition in late June.
At San Antonio University Hospital, many lined the hallways in a grand send-off for 10-year-old Mayah Zamora. βShe is our hero and we can't wait to see all that she achieves in the future,β the hospital tweeted.
Mayah came out in a cast on her arm, but that didn't stop her from posing and taking photos with those happy to see her return home as she handed out donated roses to nurses and other hospital staff.

According to the GoFundMe page that was organized by Mayah's family , the 10-year-old girl underwent numerous surgeries to recover from injuries sustained during the mass shooting.
The page says that the donations raised will not only go towards hospital bills, but also towards his mental health and trauma treatment. So far, the family has raised more than $100,000.
Twenty-one people, including 19 students and two teachers, were killed during the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.
